Review of Planet of the Apes by Tim Burton 2001

With the new release this summer of "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" latest reboot from the original series I thought I would remind us of another classic remake of the original which was directed by Tim Burton and released in 2001 titled, Planet of The Apes.

It got a lot of terrible reviews from mostly critics and reviewers but the audience loved it and so did I! All I can say is if you have not seen this classic remake, do NOT pay attention to any of the bad reviews, it was brilliant and well worth your time to watch it!

All the characters were enjoyable, the script and acting was superb. It followed a much loser version of the original but with amazing twists that only Tim Burton could pull off. So why did it get bad reviews? Because it did not follow the original version faithfully and I also think for it's time, it went over most people's heads including all those know it all critics and reviewers.

This was a major motion picture with a huge budget and it made money at the box office. It was considered a success despite the bad reviews from critics. So fuck the critics, watch it and see for yourself. IMHO it is just as good if not better then the latest reboot versions!
